3D printed white antelope wire faceted sculpture is made from white nylon it is 170mm high 83mm wide and projects 83mm from the wall. It is part of the Wired Life project an ongoing experiment to create designs which push the boundaries and get the most out of 3D printing. The trophy heads offer an attractive design and by using minimum material reduce weight and printing cost.
The white model has a translucent ghostly quality about especially when mounted on a light coloured background, the viewer has to look twice because it can easily be missed. On a sunny day the only thing that can be seen are long abstract faceted shadows cast on the wall.
To print in this material, we start with a bed of Nylon powder and sinter the powder with a laser layer by layer, solidifying the powder as we go.
